The long description of the IMG element

Prerequisites

Browsers that are subjected to this test should support the IMG element, although they need not be graphical browsers.

1. Longdesc is a uri!

The longdesc attribute of the IMG element contains a link to a file describing the image in detail, for those times where the image cannot be downloaded or displayed (for whatever reason that may be), or for times where a textual description would be better than the image itself.

The browser may supply some way of accessing this information.
